Journal ArticleDOI
Physicochemical of microcrystalline cellulose from oil palm fronds as potential methylene blue adsorbents
M. Hazwan Hussin,Nurul Aqilah Pohan,Zaharaddeen N. Garba,M. Jain Kassim,Afidah Abdul Rahim,Nicolas Brosse,Mehdi Yemloul,M. R. Nurul Fazita,M. K. Mohamad Haafiz +8 more
TL;DR: It was found that the OPF MCC was identified as cellulose II polymorph, with higher crystallinity index than OPF α-cellulose, which indicates that the acid hydrolysis allows the production of cellulose that is highly crystalline.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation on the structure and antioxidant properties of modified lignin obtained by different combinative processes of oil palm fronds (OPF) biomass
M. Hazwan Hussin,M. Hazwan Hussin,Afidah Abdul Rahim,Mohamad Nasir Mohamad Ibrahim,Mehdi Yemloul,Dominique Perrin,Nicolas Brosse +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the structural characteristic and antioxidant activity of the ethanol organosolv lignin obtained from oil palm fronds (OPF) via different pretreatment combinative processes were reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Solvent Dynamical Behavior in an Organogel Phase As Studied by NMR Relaxation and Diffusion Experiments
Mehdi Yemloul,Emilie Steiner,Anthony Robert,Sabine Bouguet-Bonnet,Florent Allix,Brigitte Jamart-Grégoire,Daniel Canet +6 more
TL;DR: NMR diffusion measurements by the pulse gradient spin-echo (PGSE) method allow us to determine the diffusion coefficient of toluene inside the organogel, indicating that self-diffusion is the only dynamical parameter to be slightly affected when the solvent is inside the gel structure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comprehensive insights into the production of long chain aliphatic aldehydes using a copper-radical alcohol oxidase as biocatalyst
David Ribeaucourt,Bastien Bissaro,Victor Guallar,Victor Guallar,Mehdi Yemloul,Mireille Haon,Sacha Grisel,Véronique Alphand,Harry Brumer,Fanny Lambert,Jean-Guy Berrin,Mickael Lafond +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the ability of the alcohol oxidase from Colletotrichum graminicola (CgrAlcOx) to convert industrially relevant long-chain aliphatic alcohols was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of catalytic oil palm fronds (OPF) pulping on organosolv lignin properties.
M. Hazwan Hussin,M. Hazwan Hussin,Afidah Abdul Rahim,Mohamad Nasir Mohamad Ibrahim,Dominique Perrin,Mehdi Yemloul,Nicolas Brosse +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the structural characteristic and antioxidant activity of the ethanol organosolv lignin extracted from oil palm fronds (OPF) via incorporation of 1,8-dihydroxyanthraquinone during the delignification process was studied.
