Advances and challenges in sustainable tourism toward a green economy.

TL;DR: An overview of the interrelationships between tourism and sustainability from a cross-disciplinary perspective is provided and prospects of the potential for tourism to contribute to the transformative changes, e.g., a green economy system, are illustrated.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel porous nanocomposite of sulfur/carbon obtained from fish scales for lithium–sulfur batteries

TL;DR: In this article, a novel porous sulfur/carbon nanocomposite was prepared as the cathode material for lithium-sulfur batteries, which is beneficial for enhancing the cycle life by accommodating the volume expansion of sulfur particles and adsorbing the polysulfide produced during the electrochemical reaction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Establishment of enhanced geothermal energy utilization plans: Barriers and strategies

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors review the current state-of-the-art enhanced geothermal systems around the world, especially the United States, Philippines, Indonesia, Turkey and New Zealand, and address the challenges and barriers to its adoption from the institutional, regulatory, technological and financial aspects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Advances and challenges of green materials for electronics and energy storage applications: from design to end-of-life recovery

TL;DR: A comprehensive overview of state-of-the-art green materials, with a specific emphasis on recent progress in biodegradable polymeric materials and biomass-based carbon materials, together with their electronics and energy storage applications, is presented in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chitosan as a functional additive for high-performance lithium–sulfur batteries

TL;DR: In this paper, the benefits of using chitosan for not only lithium-sulfur batteries but also potentially other sulfur-based battery applications were demonstrated, where the authors showed that the cathode of a battery with a carbon/chitosans layer showed an enhanced initial discharge capacity from 950 to 1145 mA h g−1 at C/10.
