Validation and application of the WABE code: Investigations of constitutive laws and 2D effects on debris coolability

TL;DR: In this paper, a WABE-2D model is proposed to describe the degradation of degraded core material during a severe accident in a light water reactor (LWR) and describes the transient boil-off and quenching behavior of debris beds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Core Loss during a Severe Accident (COLOSS).

TL;DR: In this paper, a parallel effort is devoted to model developments for severe accident (SA) computer codes, and these codes are finally used for plant calculations to assess SA code capabilities and to apply results produced in this project to evaluate their consequences on key SA sequences occurring in different plants such as PWR-1300, BWR, VVER-1000, EPR and in the TMI-2 accident.
Journal ArticleDOI

Coolability of particulate beds in severe accidents: Status and remaining uncertainties

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of 2D/3D effects on the formation and porosity of the deformation of deformation in a deformation deformation.
