P3.157 Does the european gonococcal antimicrobial surveillance programme (EURO-GASP) accurately reflect the true antimicrobial resistance situation in europe?
TL;DR: Weighting of the Euro-GASP 2014 data provided similar estimates of AMR, demonstrating that Euro- GASP laboratories submit representative isolates in respect to patient characteristics, and the comparability of resistance proportions was satisfactory for CIP.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
O05.5 What role does importation play in the spread of antimicrobial resistant neisseria gonorrhoeae in the uk? associations between antimicrobial resistant strains and recent sex abroad
TL;DR: In the UK, heterosexuals with NG infection who report sex abroad are at a higher risk of DS to ceftriaxone, suggesting that sex abroad might be the source of some AMR NG within heterosexual networks and highlighting the importance of condom use for travellers.
Journal ArticleDOI
An evaluation of Neisseria gonorrhoeae antimicrobial susceptibility testing in the UK
TL;DR: The aim of this study was to identify various methodologies employed by the UK microbiology laboratories to perform Ng-AST and found infrequent use of quality control procedures and inconsistent susceptibility testing of the antibiotics used routinely for treatment.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
P675 Two recent cases of extensively drug-resistant (XDR) gonorrhoea in the united kingdom linked to a european party destination

TL;DR: These FC428 clone isolates are able to cause both asymptomatic and symptomatic infection with a variable response to ceftriaxone and azithromycin treatment and threatens the effectiveness of gonorrhoea treatment.
S15.3 european msm internet survey (emis): differences in sexually transmissible infection testing in

TL;DR: Self-reported testing and diagnosis rates for bacterial STIs suggest high levels of under-diagnosis and unmet sexual healthcare needs in most European countries, suggesting an urgent need to implement or improve sexual healthcare tailored to MSM-specific needs.
