Carbon capture by physical adsorption: Materials, experimental investigations and numerical modeling and simulations - A review
Rached Ben-Mansour,Mohamed A. Habib,O. E. Bamidele,M. Basha,Naef A.A. Qasem,Abdul Malik Puthan Peedikakkal,Tahar Laoui,Mariam Ali +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors focus on the separation of carbon dioxide from typical power plant exhaust gases using the adsorption process, which is believed to be one of the economic and least interfering ways for post-combustion carbon capture as it can accomplish the objective with very few modifications to power plants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fuel flexibility, stability and emissions in premixed hydrogen-rich gas turbine combustion: Technology, fundamentals, and numerical simulations
Soufien Taamallah,Konstantina Vogiatzaki,Fahad M. Alzahrani,Esmail M. A. Mokheimer,Mohamed A. Habib,Ahmed F. Ghoniem +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors review the progress made in understanding the effects of fuel composition on premixed gas turbine combustion, with a special emphasis on system stability and emissions, for hydrogen-rich synthetic gas (syngas) mixtures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Techno-economic performance analysis of parabolic trough collector in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia
Esmail M. A. Mokheimer,Yousef N. Dabwan,Mohamed A. Habib,Syed A.M. Said,Fahad A. Al-Sulaiman +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed a code and evaluated the optical and thermal efficiencies of parabolic trough collectors (PTCs) solar field considering average hourly, daily, monthly, or annually averaged weather data; in addition to detailed cost analysis of the solar field.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of gas radiation models in CFD modeling of oxy-combustion
M. A. Rajhi,Rached Ben-Mansour,Mohamed A. Habib,Medhat A. Nemitallah,Medhat A. Nemitallah,Klas Andersson +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, a CFD model for a typical industrial water tube boiler was developed, considering three different combustion environments: air-fuel combustion (21% O-2 and 79% N-2), oxy-fuel combustions (27% O2 and 73% CO2), and simple grey gas (SGG), exponential wide band model (EWBM), Leckner, Perry and weighted sum of grey gases (WSGG) radiation models were examined and their influences on the combustion characteristics were evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Computational fluid dynamics study of hydrogen generation by low temperature methane reforming in a membrane reactor
Syed A.M. Said,David S. A. Simakov,Esmail M. A. Mokheimer,Mohamed A. Habib,Shakeel Ahmed,Mohammed Waseeuddin,Yuriy Román-Leshkov +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of temperature, steam-to-carbon ratio and space velocity on conversion, hydrogen recovery and carbon monoxide selectivity were investigated in a low temperature membrane reactor.
