Journal ArticleDOI
Preparation and applications of ion exchange membranes by radiation-induced graft copolymerization of polar monomers onto non-polar films
TL;DR: In this paper, a review of ion exchange membranes by radiation-induced graft copolymerization of polar and functional monomers onto non-polar polymeric films and fibers is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiation-grafted copolymers for separation and purification purposes: Status, challenges and future directions
TL;DR: In this article, the current status of research on the development and applications of radiation-grafted copolymers for separation and purification purposes is presented without neglecting the seminal work that laid the foundation to today's progress.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiation-grafted membranes for polymer electrolyte fuel cells: current trends and future directions.
TL;DR: The replacement of a liquid electrolyte by PEM in fuel cell systems has eliminated the corrosion problems and conferred on the system additional advantages such as simplicity of construction, compactness, and quick self-starting at ambient temperatures.
Journal ArticleDOI
An optimised synthesis of high performance radiation-grafted anion-exchange membranes
Lianqin Wang,Emanuele Magliocca,Emanuele Magliocca,Emma L. Cunningham,William E. Mustain,William E. Mustain,Simon D. Poynton,R. Escudero-Cid,R. Escudero-Cid,Mohamed Mahmoud Nasef,Mohamed Mahmoud Nasef,Julia Ponce-González,Rachida Bance-Souahli,Robert C. T. Slade,Daniel K. Whelligan,John R. Varcoe +15 more
TL;DR: A further positive off-shoot of the optimisation process was the discovery that using water as a diluent resulted in an enhanced distribution of VBC grafts as proven by Raman microscopy and corroborated using EDX analysis, which led to enhancement in the Cl− anion-conductivities.
Journal ArticleDOI
PSSA pore-filled PVDF membranes by simultaneous electron beam irradiation: Preparation and transport characteristics of protons and methanol
Mohamed Mahmoud Nasef,Nor Aida Zubir,Ahmad Fauzi Ismail,Mohamed Khayet,Khairulzaman Mohd. Dahlan,Hamdani Saidi,Rosiah Rohani,T. I S Ngah,N. A. Sulaiman +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, polystyrene sulfonic acid (PSSA) pore-filled poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) membranes have been prepared using simultaneous electron irradiation method.
