Journal ArticleDOI
Solar chimney optimization for enhancing thermal comfort in Egypt: An experimental and numerical study
Ahmed Abdeen,Ahmed Abdeen,Ahmed A. Serageldin,Mona G. Ibrahim,Abbas El-Zafarany,Shinichi Ookawara,Ryo Murata +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a three-dimensional, quasi-steady computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model was established for the prediction of buoyant air flow using the renormalization group (RNG) k-e turbulence model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Numerical and experimental investigations of the impacts of window parameters on indoor natural ventilation in a residential building
TL;DR: In this paper, the impacts of natural ventilation on the thermal comfort inside residential buildings were evaluated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to assess the wind environment within the study domain, and the solved flow field was used to calculate the temperature field.
Journal ArticleDOI
CNTs/MOF-808 painted plates for extended treatment of pharmaceutical and agrochemical wastewaters in a novel photocatalytic reactor
Mahmoud Samy,Mahmoud Samy,Mona G. Ibrahim,Mona G. Ibrahim,Manabu Fujii,Kamal E. Diab,Marwa F. Elkady,Mohamed Gar Alalm,Mohamed Gar Alalm +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a photocatalytic reactor with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and metal-organic framework-808 (MOF-808) with different ratios was employed for the degradation of carbamazepine (CBZ) and diazinon.
Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental, analytical, and numerical investigation into the feasibility of integrating a passive Trombe wall into a single room
Ahmed Abdeen,Ahmed A. Serageldin,Mona G. Ibrahim,Abbas El-Zafarany,Shinichi Ookawara,Ryo Murata +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a simplified analytical model of a Trombe wall was developed, with the overall energy balance under quasi-state conditions taken into consideration for a typical winter week in Alexandria, Egypt.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effective photocatalytic degradation of sulfamethazine by CNTs/LaVO4 in suspension and dip coating modes
TL;DR: In this article, the authors synthesize stable nanocomposites of CNTs/LaVO4 with mass ratios of 0.1% and 0.3% to investigate the photocatalytic degradation of a sulphonamide antibiotic namely sulfamethazine (SMZ) in both suspension and dip coating modes.
