Journal ArticleDOI

The effects of montelukast on antioxidant enzymes and proinflammatory cytokines on the heart, liver, lungs, and kidneys in a rat model of cecal ligation and puncture-induced sepsis.

TL;DR: The lung and kidney tissues were the most protected by MLK under sepsis conditions and can suggest that MLK reverses the systemic inflammatory reaction to polymicrobial sepsi and thereby reduces multiple organ failure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hepatic laceration because of malpositioning of the umbilical vein catheter: case report and literature review.

TL;DR: Patients with ongoing bleeding after the withdrawal of an umbilical vein catheter should be monitored for a likely development of intrahepatic bleeding.
Journal ArticleDOI

Growth hormone reduces tissue damage in rat ovaries subjected to torsion and detorsion: biochemical and histopathologic evaluation.

TL;DR: The histopathological findings suggested a protective role of GH in ischemia/reperfusion injury and the effects of growth hormone as an antioxidant and tissue-protective agent can be attributed to the antioxidant properties of GH.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antiulcerative effect of dexmedetomidine on indomethacin-induced gastric ulcer in rats

TL;DR: There is a correlation between antiulcer mechanisms and α(2)-receptor activation in rats given dexmedetomidine, and all of the investigated antioxidant parameters increased, except for catalase (CAT), whereas, aside from myeloperoxidase (MPO), all oxidant parameters decreased.
Journal ArticleDOI

A comparative study to evaluate the effect of double dartos flaps in primary hypospadias repair: no fistula anymore

TL;DR: The additional covering of the neourethra with a second layer dartos flap is an improvement in the TIP urethroplasty, in terms of fistula formation avoidance.
