Journal ArticleDOI
Different mechanisms in formation and prevention of indomethacin-induced gastric ulcers.
TL;DR: This review hypothesized a relationship between indomethacin-induced ulcers and α 2 adrenergic receptors and suggested that blockage of α 2 Adrenergic receptors may be responsible for the increase in the aggressive factors induced by indometHacin, and stimulation of α2 adrenergic receptor may beresponsible for the increased of protective factors inducedby antiulcer drugs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sepsis and Septic Shock: Current Treatment Strategies and New Approaches.
TL;DR: This review summarizes the sepsis pathophysiology, current treatment protocols, and new approaches as well as various therapeutic agents used in addition to antibiotherapy in the last decade.
Journal ArticleDOI
Amiodarone has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative properties: an experimental study in rats with carrageenan-induced paw edema.
Zekai Halici,Gunnur Ozbakis Dengiz,Fehmi Odabasoglu,Halis Suleyman,Elif Cadirci,Mesut Halici +5 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that the anti-inflammatory effect of amiodarone on carrageenan-induced acute inflammation can be attributed to its ameliorating effect on the oxidative damage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Onosma armeniacum root extract on ethanol-induced oxidative stress in stomach tissue of rats.
Elif Cadirci,Halis Suleyman,Hülya Aksoy,Zekai Halici,Ufuk Özgen,Aysegul Koc,Nurinnisa Ozturk +6 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that the protection of some antioxidant mechanisms and the inhibition of some oxidant mechanisms have a role in AR-1's antiulcer effect mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI
Beneficial effects of vegetable oils (corn, olive and sunflower oils) and α-tocopherol on anti-inflammatory and gastrointestinal profiles of indomethacin in rats
Fehmi Odabasoglu,Zekai Halici,Ahmet Cakir,Mesut Halici,Hayati Aygun,Halis Suleyman,Elif Cadirci,Fadime Atalay +7 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that indomethacin as well as other NSAIDs do not have any adverse effect on the gastrointestinal tract when they are used together with vegetable oils and vitamin E or as the preparations of the oils.
