Journal ArticleDOI
Reduction of macrophage infiltration and chemoattractant gene expression changes in white adipose tissue of morbidly obese subjects after surgery-induced weight loss.
Raffaella Cancello,Corneliu Henegar,Nathalie Viguerie,Soraya Taleb,Christine Poitou,Christine Rouault,Muriel Coupaye,Véronique Pelloux,Danielle Hugol,Jean Luc Bouillot,Anne Bouloumié,Giorgio Barbatelli,Saverio Cinti,Per-Arne Svensson,Gregory S. Barsh,Jean-Daniel Zucker,Arnaud Basdevant,Dominique Langin,Karine Clément +18 more
TL;DR: It is shown that improvement of the inflammatory profile after weight loss is related to a reduced number of macrophages in scWAT, and MCP-1, PLAUR, CSF-3, and HIF-1alpha may play roles in the attraction of macophages inscWAT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Validity of Leg-to-Leg Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis to Estimate Body Fat in Obesity
Célia Lloret Linares,Cécile Ciangura,Jean-Luc Bouillot,Muriel Coupaye,Xavier Declèves,Christine Poitou,Arnaud Basdevant,Jean-Michel Oppert +7 more
TL;DR: According to the wide limits of agreement, BIA seems more interesting for epidemiological rather than individual use to evaluate body FM and FM changes in obese women undergoing RYGB.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nutritional deficiency after gastric bypass: diagnosis, prevention and treatment
C. Poitou Bernert,C. Ciangura,Muriel Coupaye,Sébastien Czernichow,Jean-Luc Bouillot,Arnaud Basdevant +5 more
TL;DR: Based on an analysis of the literature, this article summarizes the various nutritional complications observed after RYGB and the means to diagnose it and proposes practical recommendations for follow-up, preventive supplementation and treatment of these deficiencies, both generally and in the more specific case of a pregnancy after RyGB.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nutritional consequences of adjustable gastric banding and gastric bypass: a 1-year prospective study.
Muriel Coupaye,Karin Puchaux,Catherine Bogard,Simon Msika,Pauline Jouet,Christine Clerici,E. Larger,Séverine Ledoux +7 more
TL;DR: Severe nutritional deficits can be avoided after bariatric surgery if patients are systematically supplemented with multivitamin and carefully monitored, however, specific care is required to avoid iron and vitamin B12 deficiencies, anemia, and protein malnutrition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of nutritional status during the first year after sleeve gastrectomy and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass.
Muriel Coupaye,Pauline Rivière,Marie Christine Breuil,Benjamin Castel,Catherine Bogard,Thierry Dupré,Martin Flamant,Simon Msika,Séverine Ledoux +8 more
TL;DR: During the first year after surgery, in patients with the same WL and following the same strategy of vitamin supplementation, global nutritional status was only slightly impaired after SG and GBP, however, some nutritional parameters were specifically altered after GBP.
