Journal ArticleDOI
Direct structural evidence of Indian continental subduction beneath Myanmar.
Tianyu Zheng,Yumei He,Lin Ding,Mingming Jiang,Yinshuang Ai,Chit Thet Mon,Chit Thet Mon,Guangbing Hou,Kyaing Sein,Myo Thant +9 more
TL;DR: A unique continental subduction regime is revealed as a result of Indian-Eurasian continental collision and lateral extrusion as well as information on the deep structure of the eastern Himalayan syntaxis is lacking.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surface Ruptures of the Mw 6.8 March 2011 Tarlay Earthquake, Eastern Myanmar
Soe Thura Tun,Yu Wang,Saw Ngwe Khaing,Myo Thant,Nyunt Htay,Yin Myo Min Htwe,Than Myint,Kerry Sieh +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used field observations and high-resolution satellite imagery to investigate the cause of the 2011 Tarlay earthquake and confirm that the earthquake resulted from the rupture of a structurally distinct segment of the Nam Ma fault, bounded on the west by the fault terminus and on the east by the basin stepover.
Journal ArticleDOI
Indian continental lithosphere and related volcanism beneath Myanmar: Constraints from local earthquake tomography
Guangli Zhang,Yumei He,Yinshuang Ai,Mingming Jiang,Chit Thet Mon,Chit Thet Mon,Guangbing Hou,Myo Thant,Kyaing Sein +8 more
TL;DR: Based on the local seismic data recorded by a newly deployed dense array in Myanmar, this article obtained a three-dimensional velocity structure of the crust and lithospheric mantle above 100 km by employing the double-difference tomography method.
Journal ArticleDOI
Insight into major active faults in Central Myanmar and the related geodynamic sources
Chit Thet Mon,Chit Thet Mon,Xuan Gong,Yun Wen,Mingming Jiang,Mingming Jiang,Qi-Fu Chen,Miao Zhang,Guangbing Hou,Myo Thant,Kyaing Sein,Yumei He,Yumei He +12 more
Journal ArticleDOI
New insights into the structural heterogeneity and geodynamics of the Indo-Burma subduction zone from ambient noise tomography
Shucheng Wu,Jiayuan Yao,Shengji Wei,Judith Hubbard,Yu Wang,Yin Myo Min Htwe,Myo Thant,Xin Wang,Kai Wang,Tianshi Liu,Qinya Liu,Ping Tong +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a 3D shear-wave velocity (Vs) model of the Indo-Burman Ranges and the Central Myanmar Basin is presented, showing that low velocities dominate the lower and upper layers.
