Journal ArticleDOI
Mirnome analysis reveals novel molecular determinants in the pathogenesis of diet-induced nonalcoholic fatty liver disease
Anna Alisi,Letizia Da Sacco,Giovannella Bruscalupi,Fiorella Piemonte,Nadia Panera,Rita De Vito,Silvia Leoni,Gian Franco Bottazzo,Andrea Masotti,Valerio Nobili +9 more
TL;DR: An analysis of microRNA (miRNA) expression profiles in liver of rats made NAFLD by different diets demonstrated that the treatment with different dietetic regimens caused a significant increase of the body weight and the alteration of some metabolic parameters compared with control animals, as well as various liver injuries.
Journal Article
Low birth weight and catch-up-growth associated with metabolic syndrome: a ten-year systematic review
TL;DR: Both low birth weight and catch-up-growth seem to correlate with some aspects of a later metabolic syndrome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lipid-Induced Hepatocyte-Derived Extracellular Vesicles Regulate Hepatic Stellate Cells via MicroRNA Targeting Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor-γ
Davide Povero,Nadia Panera,Akiko Eguchi,Casey D. Johnson,Bettina G. Papouchado,Lucas de Araujo Horcel,Eva Pinatel,Anna Alisi,Valerio Nobili,Ariel E. Feldstein +9 more
TL;DR: Findings demonstrate a link between fat-laden hepatocyte-derived EVs and liver fibrosis and have potential implications for the development of novel antifibrotic targets for NAFLD and other fibrotic diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Role of Tissue Macrophage-Mediated Inflammation on NAFLD Pathogenesis and Its Clinical Implications.
Anna Alisi,Guido Carpino,Felipe Leite de Oliveira,Nadia Panera,Valerio Nobili,Eugenio Gaudio +5 more
TL;DR: The role of adipose and liver tissue macrophage-mediated inflammation in experimental and human NAFLD is discussed to help researchers that approach clinical and experimental studies on this disease advancing the knowledge of mechanisms that could be targeted in order to revertNAFLD-related fibrosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
LPS-induced TNF-α factor mediates pro-inflammatory and pro-fibrogenic pattern in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
Sara Ceccarelli,Nadia Panera,Marco Mina,Daniela Gnani,Cristiano De Stefanis,Annalisa Crudele,Chiara Rychlicki,Stefania Petrini,Giovannella Bruscalupi,Laura Agostinelli,Laura Stronati,Salvatore Cucchiara,Giovanni Musso,Cesare Furlanello,Gianluca Svegliati-Baroni,Valerio Nobili,Anna Alisi +16 more
TL;DR: A more severe histological profile in paediatric NAFLD is associated with LITAF over-expression in HSCs, which in turn correlates with hepatic and circulating IL-1β levels outlining a panel of potential biomarkers of NASH-related liver damage.
