TL;DR: In this paper, a full chemical characterization of new N-aryl-5-amino-4-cyanopyrazole derivatives and their corresponding pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidines was provided.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of new heteroaryl and heteroannulated indoles from dehydrophenylalanines: Antitumor evaluation.
Maria João R. P. Queiroz,Ana S. Abreu,M. Solange D. Carvalho,Paula M. T. Ferreira,Nair Nazareth,M. São-José Nascimento +5 more
TL;DR: Three cyclized compounds were evaluated for their capacity to inhibit the in vitro growth of three human tumor cell lines, MCF-7 (breast adenocarcinoma), NCI-H460 (non-small cell lung cancer), and SF-268 (CNS cancer).
Journal ArticleDOI
Dihydroxyxanthones prenylated derivatives: synthesis, structure elucidation, and growth inhibitory activity on human tumor cell lines with improvement of selectivity for MCF-7.
Raquel A. P. Castanheiro,Madalena Pinto,Artur M. S. Silva,Sara Cravo,Luís Gales,Luís Gales,Ana M. Damas,Ana M. Damas,Nair Nazareth,Maria São José Nascimento,Graham Eaton +10 more
TL;DR: The synthesis, structure elucidation, and antitumor activity of 11 xanthones are reported, being the compounds 3, 4, 6-8, and 9 described for the first time, with effect on the in vitro growth of four human tumor cell lines.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epstein-Barr Virus in Inflammatory Bowel Disease—Correlation with Different Therapeutic Regimens
Fernando Magro,João Santos-Antunes,Andreia Albuquerque,Filipe Vilas-Boas,Gonçalo Nuno Macedo,Nair Nazareth,Susana M. Chuva de Sousa Lopes,Joana Sobrinho-Simões,Sérgio Teixeira,Cláudia Camila Dias,José Sarsfield Cabral,Amélia Sarmento,Guilherme Macedo +12 more
TL;DR: IBD is a risk factor for the presence of EBV DNA in blood, particularly in older patients and in those taking infliximab, and C-reactive protein was not related toEBV DNA prevalence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence of Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis and Escherichia coli in blood samples from patients with inflammatory bowel disease
Nair Nazareth,Fernando Magro,Elisabete Machado,Teresa Gonçalves Ribeiro,António Martinho,Pedro M. Rodrigues,Rita Alves,Gonçalo Nuno Macedo,Daniela Grácio,Rosa Coelho,Candida Abreu,Rui Appelberg,Camila Dias,Guilherme Macedo,Tim J. Bull,Amélia Sarmento +15 more
TL;DR: The results show that coinfection with MAP and AIEC is common and persistent in CD, although the high MAP and EC detection in CIR patients suggested that colonization is, at least, partially dependent on increased gut permeability.
