The thyroid hormone mimetic compound KB2115 lowers plasma LDL cholesterol and stimulates bile acid synthesis without cardiac effects in humans

TL;DR: In moderately overweight and hypercholesterolemic subjects KB2115 was found to be safe and well tolerated and elicited up to a 40% lowering of total and LDL cholesterol after 14 days of treatment, suggesting that the pharmacological selectivity observed in animal models translates to humans.

Data validation using signatures and sampling

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose an architecture that facilitates validation of a data mapping of data from a data source to a data target, including a signature generation component that generates a source signature of all or a portion of the data source and a target signature of a corresponding portion of data target and a sampling component that obtains a sample of the source data a corresponding sample of target data.
Journal ArticleDOI

How Does the Electronegativity of the Substituent Dictate the Strength of the Gauche Effect

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that the distinct conformational preferences observed for the pentofuranosyl moieties in various 3'-substituted 2',3'-dideoxythymidine derivatives are closely related to the strength of the 3'-gauche effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design and Fast Synthesis of C-Terminal Duplicated Potent C2-Symmetric P1/P1‘-Modified HIV-1 Protease Inhibitors

TL;DR: An analysis of the X-ray structure of a complex of HIV-1 protease with a linear C(2)-symmetric C-terminal duplicated inhibitor guided the selection of a series of diverse target compounds, which exhibited good inhibitory potency in the protease assay.

Mitigating data usage in messaging applications

TL;DR: In this paper, the location of an application on the display screen or a mode of a device is used to mitigate data usage of a messaging application based on a location of the application.
