Solo dwarfs II: the stellar structure of isolated Local Group dwarf galaxies
Clare Higgs,Alan W. McConnachie,Nicholaas Annau,Mike Irwin,Giuseppina Battaglia,Giuseppina Battaglia,P. Cote,Geraint F. Lewis,K. A. Venn +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an analysis of the 12 closest Solo dwarf galaxies accessible from the northern hemisphere is presented, including derivation of their distances, spatial distributions, morphology, and extended structures, including their inner integrated light properties and their outer resolved star distributions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dwarfs or giants? Stellar metallicities and distances in the Canada-France-Imaging-Survey from $ugrizG$ multi-band photometry.
Guillaume F. Thomas,Nicholaas Annau,Alan W. McConnachie,Sebastien Fabbro,Hossen Teimoorinia,Patrick Côté,Jean-Charles Cuillandre,Stephen Gwyn,Rodrigo A. Ibata,Else Starkenburg,Raymond G. Carlberg,Benoit Famaey,Nicholas J. Fantin,Laura Ferrarese,Vincent Hénault-Brunnet,Jaclyn Jensen,Ariane Lançon,Geraint F. Lewis,Nicolas F. Martin,Julio F. Navarro,Céline Reylé,Rubén Sánchez-Janssen +21 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a new fully data-driven algorithm that uses photometric data from the Canada-France-Imaging-Survey (CFIS), Pan-STARRS 1 (PS1; $griz$), and Gaia ($G$) to discriminate between dwarf and giant stars and to estimate their distances and metallicities is presented.

TL;DR: In this article, a data-driven algorithm was proposed to discriminate between dwarf and giant stars and to estimate their distances and metallicities using the SDSS/SEGUE spectroscopic dataset and Gaia photometric/astrometric dataset.
