Poly(trehalose) Nanoparticles Prevent Amyloid Aggregation and Suppress Polyglutamine Aggregation in a Huntington's Disease Model Mouse.

TL;DR: The designed poly(trehalose) nanoparticles are 1000–10000 times more efficient than molecular trehalose in inhibiting protein fibrillation in extra-cellular space, in blocking aggregation of polyglutamine-containing mutant huntingtin protein in model neuronal cells, and in suppressing mutant Huntingtin aggregates in HD mouse brain.
Journal ArticleDOI

Red Fluorescent Carbon Nanoparticle-Based Cell Imaging Probe

TL;DR: Red fluorescent carbon nanoparticle-based nanobioconjugates of <25 nm hydrodynamic size and their application as fluorescent cell labels and the presented method can be extended for the development of carbon nanoparticles-based other bioimaging probes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Advances in Coating Chemistry in Deriving Soluble Functional Nanoparticle

TL;DR: It is found that cross-linked coating, specifically by polyacrylate, provides a superior colloidal stability of nanoparticles and the robust coating provides the opportunity to explore various conjugation chemistries involving nanoparticle and to derive different soluble nanobioconjugates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Silver coated gold nanoparticles as new surface enhanced Raman substrate at low analyte concentration

Nikhil R. Jana
- 01 Jul 2003 -
TL;DR: In this paper, stable silver coated gold hydrosols, with particle size varying from 12-200 nm, were prepared and tested as a substrate for surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS).
Journal ArticleDOI

Controlled photostability of luminescent nanocrystalline ZnO solution for selective detection of aldehydes.

TL;DR: Water-soluble, silane-functionalized ZnO nanocrystals were synthesized with improved colloidal stability, and their photostability was controlled for the selective detection of aldehydes.
