Pre-main sequence stars in LH 91

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors studied the accretion properties of pre-main sequence (PMS) low-mass stars in the LH 91 association within the Large Magellanic Clouds.
Book ChapterDOI

T Tauri Stars in the Large Magellanic Cloud: A Combined HST and VLT Effort

TL;DR: The combination of the unprecedented spatial resolution attainable with WFPC2 on board HST and of the large collecting area of the VLT makes it possible to study in detail the low mass pre-Main Sequence stars in galaxies other than our own as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultraviolet observations of SN 1987A.

TL;DR: In this article, the results of IUE observations of SN 1987A are presented and discussed and the most important conclusions are that the direct progenitor of the supernova was a blue supergiant (Sk -69 202) that, however, had gone through a regular phase of red supergiants before turning back to the left in the HR diagram.
Journal ArticleDOI

Supernova 1987a: celebrating a silver jubilee

TL;DR: The story of the SN 1987A explosion is briefly reviewed in this paper, where the authors confirm the core collapse of a massive star as the cause of the explosion, as well as the confirmation that the decays 56Ni−56Co−56Fe at early times and 44Ti−44Sc at late times, are the main sources of the energy radiated by the ejecta.
