RADIO EMISSION FROM SN 1994I IN NGC 5194 (M 51): THE BEST-STUDIED TYPE Ib/c RADIO SUPERNOVA
Kurt W. Weiler,Nino Panagia,Nino Panagia,Chris Stockdale,Michael P. Rupen,Richard A. Sramek,Christopher Williams +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the results of detailed monitoring of the radio emission from the Type Ic supernova SN 1994I from three days after optical discovery on 1994 March 31 until eight years later at age 2927 days on 2002 April 5.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of the Type IIn Supernova 1998S: Effects of Circumstellar Interaction on Observed Spectra
Eric J. Lentz,E. Baron,Peter Lundqvist,David Branch,Peter H. Hauschildt,Claes Fransson,Peter M. Garnavich,Nate Bastian,Alexei V. Filippenko,R. P. Kirshner,P. Challis,Saurabh Jha,Bruno Leibundgut,Richard McCray,E. Michael,Nino Panagia,M. M. Phillips,C. S. J. Pun,Brian P. Schmidt,George Sonneborn,N. B. Suntzeff,Lingyu Wang,John C Wheeler +22 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present spectral analysis of early observations of the Type IIn supernova 1998S using the general non-local thermodynamic equilibrium atmosphere code (tt PHOENIX).
Journal ArticleDOI
SN 1979c - A radio supernova
Journal ArticleDOI
HST-COS Observations of Hydrogen, Helium, Carbon and Nitrogen Emission from the SN 1987A Reverse Shock
Richard McCray,Steven V. Penton,Robert P. Kirshner,Peter Challis,J. Martin Laming,Patrice Bouchet,Roger A. Chevalier,Claes Fransson,Peter M. Garnavich,Kevin Heng,Josefin Larsson,Stephen S. Lawrence,Peter Lundqvist,Nino Panagia,Chun S. J. Pun,Nathan Smith,Jesper Sollerman,George Sonneborn,Ben Sugerman,J. Craig Wheeler +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, the most sensitive ultraviolet observations of Supernova 1987A to date were presented, showing that the N/C abundance ratio in the gas crossing the reverse shock is significantly higher than that in the circumstellar ring, a result attributed to chemical stratification in the outer envelope of the supernova progenitor.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Infrared Emission of Circumstellar Envelopes, Dark Silhouettes, and Photoionized Disks in H II Regions
TL;DR: In this paper, the infrared spectral energy distribution (SED) of a pre-main-sequence star surrounded by a dusty globule that is immersed within an H II region is modeled.
