Journal ArticleDOI
Relationship between sugar chain structure and biological activity of recombinant human erythropoietin produced in Chinese hamster ovary cells.
Makoto Takeuchi,Noboru Inoue,Thomas W. Strickland,Mamoru Kubota,Michihito Wada,Rie Shimizu,Sakuo Hoshi,Hiroyuki Kozutsumi,Seiichi Takasaki,Akira Kobata +9 more
TL;DR: A positive correlation between the in vivo activity of EPO and the ratio of tetraantennary to biantennary oligosaccharides is found and suggests that higher branching of the N-linked sugar chains is essential for effective expression of in vivo biological activity ofEPO.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of a multiplex loop-mediated isothermal amplification (mLAMP) method for the simultaneous detection of bovine Babesia parasites.
Hiroshi Iseki,Andy Alhassan,Naomi Ohta,Oriel M. M. Thekisoe,Naoaki Yokoyama,Noboru Inoue,Andrew Nambota,Jun Yasuda,Ikuo Igarashi +8 more
TL;DR: The findings indicate that this mLAMP method is a new convenient tool for simultaneous detection of the bovine Babesia parasites.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of a 50 Hz electric field on plasma lipid peroxide level and antioxidant activity in rats.
Shinji Harakawa,Noboru Inoue,Takuya Hori,Koji Tochio,Tatsuya Kariya,Kunihito Takahashi,Fuyuki Doge,Hiroshi Suzuki,Hideyuki Nagasawa +8 more
TL;DR: Data indicate that the ELF EF used in this study influenced the lipid peroxide level in an oxidatively stressed rat, similar to treatment by ascorbic acid or the superoxide dismutase.
Journal ArticleDOI
The role of CD4(+) or CD8(+) T cells in the protective immune response of BALB/c mice to Neospora caninum infection.
Tetsuya Tanaka,Taketo Hamada,Noboru Inoue,Hideyuki Nagasawa,Kozo Fujisaki,Naoyoshi Suzuki,Takeshi Mikami +6 more
TL;DR: The results indicated that IFN-gamma is an important cytokine for protection against N. caninum infection at the early stage of infection, however, since CD4(+) T cells against EMTs were essential to the production of specific antibody, these antibodies might have important roles in host protection at the later stage of infections.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gliding motility of Babesia bovis merozoites visualized by time-lapse video microscopy.
Masahito Asada,Yasuyuki Goto,Yasuyuki Goto,Kazuhide Yahata,Naoaki Yokoyama,Satoru Kawai,Noboru Inoue,Osamu Kaneko,Shin-ichiro Kawazu +8 more
TL;DR: This is the first report of the gliding motility of B. bovis merozoites, which is similar to the helical gliding of Toxoplasma tachyzoites.
