Changes in elevation and mass of Arctic glaciers and ice caps, 2010–2017
Paul Tepes,Noel Gourmelen,Noel Gourmelen,Peter Nienow,Michel Tsamados,Andrew Shepherd,Flora Weissgerber +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors use seven years of CryoSat-2 swath interferometric altimetry to track changes in the volume of Arctic glaciers and ice caps (GIC) and produce a pan-Arctic assessment of GIC mass imbalance, and partition their losses into signals associated with atmospheric processes and glacier dynamics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Emerging Technology Monitors Ice-Sea Interface at Outlet Glaciers
Timothy H. Dixon,Denis Voytenko,Chad Lembke,Santiago de la Peña,Ian M. Howat,Noel Gourmelen,Charles Werner,Björn Oddsson +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured changes in the dynamics of the marine outlet glaciers of the Greenland and Antarctica ice sheets and their potential contributions to future sea level rise by collecting quantitative measurements within the dynamic environment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mapping ice-shelf flow with interferometric synthetic aperture radar stacking
Malcolm McMillan,Andrew Shepherd,Noel Gourmelen,Jeong Won Park,Peter Nienow,Eero Rinne,Amber Leeson +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a method to determine two-dimensional ice-shelf flow vectors independently of model predictions of tide and atmospheric pressure, by stacking conventional and multiple aperture InSAR (MAI) observations of the Dotson Ice Shelf, was described.
Journal ArticleDOI
Glacier change along West Antarctica's Marie Byrd Land Sector and links to inter-decadal atmosphere–ocean variability
Frazer D. W. Christie,Robert Bingham,Noel Gourmelen,Eric J. Steig,Rosie R. Bisset,Hamish D. Pritchard,Kate Snow,Simon F. B. Tett +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors use optical satellite imagery to track grounding-line migration along the Marie Byrd Land Sector between 2003 and 2015, and compare observed changes with ICESat and CryoSat-2 derived surface elevation and thickness change records.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acceleration and evolution of faults: An example from the Hunter Mountain-Panamint Valley fault zone, Eastern California
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present new space geodetic data indicating that the present slip rate on the Hunter Mountain-Panamint Valley fault zone in Eastern California (5.0±0.5 mm/yr) is significantly faster than geologic estimates based on fault total offset and inception time.
