Repellency of essential oils extracted from plants in thailand against four mosquito vectors (diptera: culicidae) and oviposition deterrent effects against aedes aegypti (diptera: culicidae)
Apiwat Tawatsin,Preecha Asavadachanukorn,Usavadee Thavara,Prapai Wongsinkongman,Jaree Bansidhi,Thidarat Boonruad,Pranee Chavalittumrong,Noppamas Soonthornchareonnon,Narumon Komalamisra,Mir S. Mulla +9 more
TL;DR: The present study demonstrates the potential for using essential oils as mosquito repellents and oviposition deterrents and may lead to new and more effective strategies for protection from and control of mosquitoes.
Journal ArticleDOI
In vitro HIV type 1 reverse transcriptase inhibitory activities of Thai medicinal plants and Canna indica L. rhizomes.
TL;DR: Water and 80% ethanol extracts of 20 Thai medicinal plants used to treat AIDS were tested for their HIV type 1 reverse transcriptase inhibitory activity and proteins in water extract showed significant HIV-1 RT inhibition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antitumour Effects of Phyllanthus emblica L.: Induction of Cancer Cell Apoptosis and Inhibition of In Vivo Tumour Promotion and In Vitro Invasion of Human Cancer Cells
Chatri Ngamkitidechakul,Kanjana Jaijoy,Pintusorn Hansakul,Noppamas Soonthornchareonnon,Seewaboon Sireeratawong +4 more
TL;DR: Results suggest P. emblica exhibits anticancer activity against selected cancer cells, and warrants further study as a possible chemopreventive and antiinvasive agent.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of abiotic and biotic elicitors on growth and isoflavonoid accumulation in Pueraria candollei var. candollei and P. candollei var. mirifica cell suspension cultures
Sirintra Korsangruang,Noppamas Soonthornchareonnon,Yupyn Chintapakorn,Promchit Saralamp,Sompop Prathanturarug +4 more
TL;DR: The effects of various concentrations of abiotic and biotic elicitors on the cell growth and isoflavonoid accumulation of P. mirifica and P. candollei cell suspension cultures are demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
In vitro induction of polyploidy in Centella asiatica (L.) Urban
Tanavat Kaensaksiri,Puangpaka Soontornchainaksaeng,Noppamas Soonthornchareonnon,Sompop Prathanturarug +3 more
TL;DR: A positive trend in both biomass and triterpenoid production was obtained with the tetraploid and mixoploid plants of C. asiatica, and these plants demonstrated significantly longer stomata and a higher stomatal index compared to those of the diploid control plants.
