Experimental study on cooling performance of sinusoidal–wavy minichannel heat sink

TL;DR: In this article, the cooling performance of the sinusoidal-wavy minichannel heat sink (SWMCHS) having square cross section is experimentally investigated and the effects of specific geometrical parameters, such as wave length and wave amplitude, are examined.
Journal ArticleDOI

An experimental study on vortex-generator insert with different arrangements of delta-winglets

TL;DR: In this article, the use of the VG inserts inside the tube yields higher heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop than the plain tube, and these parameters augment with increasing the delta-winglets, and the appropriate tradeoff between the enhanced heat transfer and the friction is found by using a special arrangement of the delta winglets on the VG insert which presents the highest heat transfer coefficients as well as the maximum values of considered PEC (performance evaluation criterion).
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermal–hydraulic performance of wavy plate-fin heat exchanger using passive techniques: Perforations, winglets, and nanofluids

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the influence of using three passive heat transfer enhancement (HTE) techniques, namely perforations, winglets, and nanofluids, on heat transfer and flow specifications of the winged plate-fins.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of different pin-fin interruptions on performance of a nanofluid-cooled zigzag miniature heat sink (MHS)

TL;DR: In this paper, six different pin-fin interruptions are proposed in order to optimize the thermal-hydraulic performance of a nanofluid-cooled zigzag miniature heat sink (MHS).
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental and parametric studies on a miniature heat sink with offset-strip pins and Al2O3/water nanofluids

TL;DR: In this paper, an offset-strip pin miniature heat sink (OSPMHS) is experimentally analyzed in order to find the effects of design parameters, including strip thickness, strip length, strip transversal pitch, and strip longitudinal pitch.
