Larson,Lee McCuller,Lee McCuller,S. S. Meyer,Jonathan Richardson,Jonathan Richardson,Chris Stoughton,Raymond Tomlin,Rainer Weiss +20 more
TL;DR: The Fermilab Holometer as discussed by the authors, a 39-meter Michelson interferometer, was used to place limits on the mass range of primordial black hole binaries.
Journal ArticleDOI
First Measurements of High Frequency Cross-Spectra from a Pair of Large Michelson Interferometers.
Aaron S. Chou,Richard Gustafson,Craig J. Hogan,Craig J. Hogan,Brittany L. Kamai,Brittany L. Kamai,Ohkyung Kwon,Ohkyung Kwon,Robert Lanza,Robert Lanza,Lee McCuller,Lee McCuller,S. S. Meyer,Jonathan Richardson,Chris Stoughton,Raymond Tomlin,Samuel J. Waldman,Rainer Weiss +17 more
TL;DR: The Fermilab Holometer obtains sensitivity to high frequency correlated signals far exceeding any previous measurement in a broad frequency band extending beyond the 3.8 MHz inverse light-crossing time of the apparatus.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Holometer: An Instrument to Probe Planckian Quantum Geometry
Aaron S. Chou,Henry Glass,H.Richard Gustafson,Craig J. Hogan,Craig J. Hogan,Brittany Kamai,Brittany Kamai,Brittany Kamai,Ohkyung Kwon,R. K. Lanza,Lee McCuller,S. S. Meyer,Jonathan Richardson,Jonathan Richardson,Chris Stoughton,Ray Tomlin,Rainer Weiss +16 more
TL;DR: The Fermilab Holometer as mentioned in this paper is an instrument for measuring correlations of position variations over a four-dimensional volume of space-time, and is used to verify shot-noise-limited performance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interferometric constraints on quantum geometrical shear noise correlations
Aaron S. Chou,Henry Glass,H.Richard Gustafson,Craig J. Hogan,Craig J. Hogan,Brittany Kamai,Ohkyung Kwon,Ohkyung Kwon,Robert Lanza,Lee McCuller,S. S. Meyer,Jonathan Richardson,Jonathan Richardson,Chris Stoughton,Ray Tomlin,Rainer Weiss +15 more
TL;DR: The first-generation Holometer as mentioned in this paper is the first instrument capable of measuring correlated variations in space-time position at strain noise power spectral densities smaller than a Planck time.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interferometric Tests of Planckian Quantum Geometry Models
Ohkyung Kwon,Craig J. Hogan +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of Planck scale quantum geometrical effects on measurements with interferometers is estimated with standard physics, and with a variety of proposed extensions, and it is shown that effects are negligible in standard field theory with canonically quantized gravity.
