Journal ArticleDOI
Spatiotemporal distribution of airborne mould spores in apartments.
TL;DR: The spatial and temporal variation of spore concentrations in Leipzig, Germany is elucidating and two groups of fungi differing in their spatiotemporal distribution are found, indoor-relevant and outdoor-relevant genera.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multilayer perceptron tumour diagnosis based on chromatography analysis of urinary nucleosides
TL;DR: The results verify the usefulness of ANN and the RP-HPLC method for tumor recognition in agreement with existing studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relation between stressful life events, neuropeptides and cytokines: results from the LISA birth cohort study.
Gunda Herberth,Annegret Weber,Stefan Röder,Horst-Dietrich Elvers,Ursula Krämer,Roel P. F. Schins,Ulrike Diez,Ulrike Diez,Michael Borte,Michael Borte,Joachim Heinrich,Thomas Schäfer,Olf Herbarth,Olf Herbarth,Irina Lehmann +14 more
TL;DR: The neuropeptide VIP might be a mediator between stressful life events and immune regulation contributing to the Th2 shifted immune response in children with separated/divorced parents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predictive value of food sensitization and filaggrin mutations in children with eczema
Birgit Filipiak-Pittroff,Christina Schnopp,Dietrich Berdel,Aline Naumann,Simon Sedlmeier,Anna T Onken,Elke Rodriguez,Regina Fölster-Holst,Hansjörg Baurecht,Hansjörg Baurecht,Markus Ollert,Johannes Ring,C. Cramer,Andrea von Berg,Carl Peter Bauer,Olf Herbarth,Irina Lehmann,Beate Schaaf,Sibylle Koletzko,Heinz-Erich Wichmann,Joachim Heinrich,Stephan Weidinger +21 more
TL;DR: Early food sensitization and the presence of an FLG mutation in infants with early eczema increase the risk for later asthma, but the combination of the 2 factors does not represent a clinically useful approach to reliably identify children at risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pulmonary function and urban air pollution in preschool children.
Gisela J. Fritz,Olf Herbarth +1 more
TL;DR: Variations in spirometric indices were observed across exposure groups with a significant number of children showing signs of a restrictive ventilatory function, but cross-sectional data do not permit to conclude with any degree of certainty that this is indicative of an early sign of a functional deficit.
