(Guanidine)copper complexes: structural variety and application in bioinorganic chemistry and catalysis
TL;DR: In this paper, a review of guanidine copper compounds with an emphasis on structural characteristics and their application in bioinorganic chemistry and catalysis is presented. But the focus of this paper is on the use of the guanidines as neutral donor ligands in copper coordination.
Journal ArticleDOI
New Kids in Lactide Polymerization: Highly Active and Robust Iron Guanidine Complexes as Superior Catalysts
Ruth D. Rittinghaus,Pascal Schäfer,Pascal Albrecht,Christian Conrads,Alexander Hoffmann,Agnieszka N. Ksiazkiewicz,Agnieszka N. Ksiazkiewicz,Agnieszka N. Ksiazkiewicz,Olga Bienemann,Andrij Pich,Andrij Pich,Andrij Pich,Sonja Herres-Pawlis +12 more
TL;DR: For the first time, a biocompatible complex has surpassed Sn(Oct)2 in its polymerization activity under industrially relevant conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
New Guanidine-Pyridine Copper Complexes and Their Application in ATRP
TL;DR: In this article, the guanidine hybrid ligands, (tetramethylguanidine)methylenepyridine (TMGpy) and (dimethylethyleneguanidine) methylenepryidine (DMEGpy), were proven to be able to stabilize copper complexes active in the solvent-free polymerization of styrene at 110 °C using 1-phenylthylbromide as the initiator.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and Application of New Guanidine Copper Complexes in Atom Transfer Radical Polymerisation
Olga Bienemann,Roxana Haase,Anton Jesser,Tanja Beschnitt,Artjom Döring,Dirk Kuckling,Ines dos Santos Vieira,Ulrich Flörke,Sonja Herres-Pawlis +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis and copper coordination of the ligandsTMGdipae (L1) and DMEGdipAE (L2) were reported, and the solid-state structures of obtained copper complexes [Cu(TMGdapltae)Cl] (C1), [CU(TMgdapltee)Br](C2), [cu(DMGdine)I](I)I)
Journal ArticleDOI
A Comprehensive Study of Copper Guanidine Quinoline Complexes: Predicting the Activity of Catalysts in ATRP with DFT
Thomas Rösener,Olga Bienemann,Kerstin Sigl,Nora Schopp,Fabian Schnitter,Ulrich Flörke,Alexander Hoffmann,Artjom Döring,Dirk Kuckling,Sonja Herres-Pawlis +9 more
TL;DR: It could be proven that complexes featuring DMEGqu possess a lower redox potential and are more active in ATRP, although the tetramethylguanidine moiety represents the stronger donor.
