Journal ArticleDOI
Transient drug‐induced abolition of BAEPs in coma
TL;DR: Combined infusion of high doses of lidocaine and thiopental in a comatose patient induced major latency and amplitude BAEP changes, which progressed to complete BAEP abolition and EEGs during the episodes showed long-lasting periods of activity suppression, but were never isoelectric.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transradial left gastric artery embolization to treat severe obesity: A pilot study
Charles Pirlet,Zoltán Ruzsa,Olivier Costerousse,Balázs Nemes,Béla Merkely,Paul Poirier,Olivier F. Bertrand +6 more
TL;DR: Bariatric surgery is currently the only effective treatment with long‐lasting results to treat severe obesity.
Journal Article
Transradial vs femoral percutaneous coronary intervention for left main disease in octogenarians.
TL;DR: The majority of octogenarians with left main disease can be treated by transradial approach with similar acute and long-term results as with femoral approach but with less risk of bleeding and access site complications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Outpatient percutaneous coronary intervention: Ready for prime time?
Olivier F. Bertrand,Eric Larose,Robert De Larochellière,Guy Proulx,Can Manh Nguyen,Jean-Pierre Déry,Onil Gleeton,Gérald Barbeau,Bernard Noël,Jacques R. Rouleau,Jean-Roch Boudreault,Louis Roy,Josep Rodés-Cabau +12 more
TL;DR: The present report relates the current experience with same-day discharge and defines persisting challenges in promoting accelerated in-hospital turnover, and it is proposed that outpatient PCI will likely continue to expand over the next decade.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early and late outcomes in patients excluded from same-day home discharge after transradial stenting and maximal antiplatelet therapy.
Olivier F. Bertrand,Josep Rodés-Cabau,Eric Larose,Guy Proulx,Onil Gleeton,Can Manh Nguyen,Isabelle Nault,Louis Roy,Paul Poirier,Olivier Costerousse,Robert De Larochellière +10 more
TL;DR: Criteria associated with angiographic suboptimal results or clinical complications are useful to identify patients ineligible for same‐day discharge after percutaneous coronary intervention, regardless of the clinical presentation.
