Journal ArticleDOI

The flavanone naringenin reduces the production of quorum sensing-controlled virulence factors in Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1

TL;DR: In this article, several flavonoids belonging to the chalcone structural groups were screened for their capacity to reduce the production of QS-controlled factors in the opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa (strain PAO1).
Journal ArticleDOI

Increased productivity of recombinant tissular plasminogen activator (t-PA) by butyrate and shift of temperature: a cell cycle phases analysis

TL;DR: It is shown that both by adding Na-butyrate or lowering temperature from 37 °C to 32 °C there is an increase in the amount of t-PA excreted, while cell growth is significantly reduced, and the distribution of the time cells treated by butyrate are maintained in the G1 cycle phase is significantly increased.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biosynthesis of auxin by the gram-positive phytopathogen Rhodococcus fascians is controlled by compounds specific to infected plant tissues.

TL;DR: Indole-3-acetic acid synthesis is highly induced in the presence of infected-tobacco extracts when tryptophan is not limiting, and Phenotypic analysis of a leafy gall suggests that auxin may play an important role in the development of the symptoms.
Journal ArticleDOI

From primary to secondary growth: origin and development of the vascular system

TL;DR: Advances in the understanding of the molecular basis of vascular system development are reviewed and several genes known to regulate the SAM have also been found to be expressed in the vascular cambium, highlighting possible overlapping regulatory mechanisms between these two meristems.
