Journal ArticleDOI

Structural biology: A golden era

TL;DR: In the past two decades, structural biology has transformed from a single technique used on single proteins to a multimodal integrative approach as mentioned in this paper, and protein structure prediction algorithms have opened new avenues to address challenging biological questions.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Structures of Trichoaurantianolides B, C and D, Novel Diterpenes from Tricholoma aurantium.

TL;DR: The structures of the trichoaurantianolides B (2), C (3) and D (4) isolated from the fruiting bodies of Tricholoma aurantium have been elucidated by manifold spectroscopic studies and confirmed by X-ray crystallographic analysis as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Decline of protein structure rigidity with interatomic distance.

TL;DR: In this article, the Hirshfeld test was used to analyze protein structural rigidity in a non-redundant ensemble of high-resolution protein crystal structures by means of the HFR, and it was observed that the rigidity degree diminishes if the number of covalent bonds intercalated between two atoms (d_seq) increases, while it is rather independent on the Euclidean distance between the two atoms.
Book ChapterDOI

Uses and Abuses of the Atomic Displacement Parameters in Structural Biology.

TL;DR: In this chapter, the most recent studies and applications of B-factors in protein engineering and structural biology are briefly summarized and particular emphasis is given to the limitations in using B-Factors.
