Journal ArticleDOI

Using platinum(II) as a building block to two-electron redox systems. Crystal structure and redox behavior of cis-[PtII(3-ferrocenylpyridine)2Cl2]

TL;DR: In this article, the reaction of 3-ferrocenylpyridine (3-FcPy) with [Pt II Cl 4 ] 2- gave the square complex C 33 H 32 Cl 2 Fe 2 OPt characterized by X-ray crystallography.
Journal ArticleDOI

Statistical validation of the root-mean-square-distance, a measure of protein structural proximity

TL;DR: A robust method is presented for assessing the statistical significance of the difference between two rmsd values based on the comparison of two protein structures through the correlation coefficient between equivalent inter-atomic distances and the subsequent application of the Fisher transformation that allows one to estimate the probability of identity between two correlation coefficient values.
Journal ArticleDOI

Conformational Studies of Chiral Vinylogous Sulfonamidopeptides

TL;DR: In this paper, the conformational preferences of chiral vinylogous aminosulfonic acids (vs-amino acids) and of the corresponding oligomers (vspeptides) were investigated by a combination of X-ray crystallography, variable-temperature (VT) 1H NMR spectroscopy, FT-IR spectrograms, and NOE experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detailed estimation of bioinformatics prediction reliability through the Fragmented Prediction Performance Plots.

TL;DR: It is highly advisable to use FPPPs to determine the performance of any new bioinformatics prediction protocol, in order to fully quantify its prediction power and to allow comparisons between two or more predictors based on different types of data.
Journal ArticleDOI

Norephedrine derived 2-methoxy oxazolidines as chiral formyl cation equivalents

TL;DR: In this article, the chiral synthetic equivalent of formyl cation has been proposed for silylenolethers with 1 followed by a straightforward nondestructive removal of the chari auxiliary affords the corresponding aldehydes.
