Journal ArticleDOI
Recovery after minor traffic injuries: a randomized controlled trial.
TL;DR: A simple group intervention may accelerate the self-perceived recovery in selected patients as it did not find evidence of improvements in the secondary outcome measures and the clinical significance of the treatment benefit remains to be defined.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Validity of Self-Initiated, Event-Driven Infectious Disease Reporting in General Population Cohorts
Hanna Merk,Sharon Kühlmann-Berenzon,Christin Bexelius,Sven Sandin,Jan-Eric Litton,Annika Linde,Olof Nyrén +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a passive long-term surveillance through self-initiated, event-driven outcome reporting underestimates incidence rates of common upper respiratory tract infections in Sweden during two 8 week periods in 2008 and 2009.
Journal ArticleDOI
The impact of plasma preparations and their storage time on short-term posttransfusion mortality: a population-based study using the Scandinavian Donation and Transfusion database.
TL;DR: Compared with exclusive use of never-frozen plasma, FFP was associated with increased short-term mortality in the era before leukocyte depletion, and can help to inform policies for managing high plasma demand in critical care.
Journal ArticleDOI
Perinatal Risk Factors for Cancer of the Esophagus and Gastric Cardia: A Nested Case-Control Study
Olof Akre,Lina Forssell,Magnus Kaijser,Ingrid Norén-Nilsson,Jesper Lagergren,Olof Nyrén,Anders Ekbom +6 more
TL;DR: The results are somewhat consistent with the idea that future risk of esophageal and cardia cancer may in part be determined already perinatally or in infancy and give some limited support to the hypothesis that timing of birth influences risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pancreatic acinar metaplasia in the distal oesophagus and the gastric cardia: prevalence, predictors and relation to GORD
Johan Johansson,Hans-Olof Håkansson,Lennart Mellblom,Antti Kempas,Gerhard Kjellén,Lars Brudin,Fredrik Granath,K. E. Johansson,Olof Nyrén +8 more
TL;DR: Pancreatic acinar metaplasia might be an age-dependent lesion, associated with H. pylori, female gender and gastro-oesophageal reflux if located above the GOJ.
