Wake Vortex Alleviation Flow Field Studies

TL;DR: In this article, the wake-vortex-allevialion research was conducted in the far-field vortex wake of a generic wing-tail aircraft model, where the model was run in a water tow tank to generate a pair of unequal-strength counterrotating vortices on each side of centerline.
Journal ArticleDOI

Split-screen single-camera stereoscopic PIV application to a turbulent confined swirling layer with free surface

TL;DR: In this paper, an annular liquid wall jet, or vortex tube, generated by helical injection inside a tube is studied experimentally as a possible means of fusion reactor shielding, and a split-screen, single-camera ste- reoscopic particle image velocimetry (SPIV) scheme is employed for flow field characterization.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the near-field interfaces of homogeneous and immiscible round turbulent jets

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the interface in the near-field features of submerged homogeneous and immiscible turbulent jets and showed that the visible interface features near the jet exit can be used to gauge the flow.
