Photoenhanced uptake of NO2 on mineral dust: Laboratory experiments and model simulations
Marieme Ndour,Barbara D'Anna,Christian George,Oumar Ka,Yves Balkanski,Jörg Kleffmann,Konrad Stemmler,Markus Ammann +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, mixed TiO2-SiO2, Saharan dust and Arizona Test Dust were exposed to NO2 in a coated wall flow tube reactor and photoenhanced uptake of NO2 was observed on all samples.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photochemistry of mineral dust surface as a potential atmospheric renoxification process
TL;DR: In this article, the photodecomposition of NO3− at the surface of synthetic mineral dust samples of SiO2, TiO2 and mixed TiO 2-SiO2 was studied by means of a flow-tube at 298 K with UV-illumination in the 340-420 nm range at relative humidity between 5 and 80%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photochemistry of atmospheric dust: ozone decomposition on illuminated titanium dioxide.
TL;DR: The experimental results suggest that under atmospherically relevant conditions the photochemistry of dust can represent an important sink of ozone inside the dust plume.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photoreactivity of NO2 on mineral dusts originating from different locations of the Sahara desert
Marieme Ndour,Marieme Ndour,Marieme Ndour,Mélanie Nicolas,Mélanie Nicolas,Barbara D'Anna,Barbara D'Anna,Oumar Ka,Christian George,Christian George +9 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the photochemistry of natural minerals will impact significantly on the heterogeneous chemistry of NO(2) under realistic atmospheric conditions, i.e. an enhancement factor ranging from 8 to 15.
Journal ArticleDOI
The influence of lateral forces on the cell stiffness measurement by optical tweezers vertical indentation
Fatou Ndoye,Muhammad Sulaiman Yousafzai,Giovanna Coceano,Serena Bonin,Giacinto Scoles,Oumar Ka,Joseph Niemela,Dan Cojoc +7 more
TL;DR: Using the Hertz model, the elastic moduli resulting from the total and vertical forces are calculated and compared, showing that the differences are important and the total force should be considered.
