Journal ArticleDOI

Binding of haemoglobin to spectrin of human erythrocytes.

TL;DR: The fact that reproducible amounts of haemoglobin are retained in membrane prepared by hypotonic lysis at acidic pH [S] indicates that, at least under these conditions, specific interaction exists between haemobic components in the preparation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phosphorylation of membrane proteins from Plasmodium berghei-infected red cells.

TL;DR: In this paper, a phosphorylated membrane protein of apparent molecular weight 42,000, absent in membrane from normal cells, can be detected in membrane of infected cells, but not by triton X-100, indicating that it may be red cell actin.
