The MINOS scintillator calorimeter system

P. Adamson, +171 more
TL;DR: The MINOS detectors as mentioned in this paper use extruded plastic scintillator strips, which are readout by wavelength-shifting fibres coupled to multi-pixel photodetectors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultra bright LED light injection calibration system for MINOS

TL;DR: In this article, a light injection calibration system for the MINOS detectors based on ultra bright blue LEDs as the light source was proposed, which was shown that these LEDs are bright enough to span over two orders of magnitude in light intensity, commensurate with that expected in a single scintillator strip.
