Journal ArticleDOI

Involvement of reactive oxygen species in the bactericidal activity of activated carbon fibre supporting silver; Bactericidal activity of ACF(Ag) mediated by ROS.

TL;DR: An activated carbon fibre supporting silver was tested for its antibacterial capacity against Escherichia coli and revealed a strong expression of oxidative stress genes, suggesting that generated bactericidal species were short lifespan.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of the anti-microbial properties of an activated carbon fibre supporting silver using a dynamic method

TL;DR: Four activated carbon fibres (ACF), impregnated or not with metallic compounds, were tested in a dynamic aqueous system for their anti-microbial abilities and the phenomena probably involved in the microbicidal mechanism are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Use of a Microwave Plasma Process at Atmospheric Pressure for Bacterial Inactivation without Thermal Effects

TL;DR: In this article , an atmospheric microwave plasma argon was used for the inactivation of bacteria E. coli, and the effects of the exposure time, the exposure distance, the input power and the gas flow rate on the reduction rate of Escherichia coli cells were investigated.
