Journal ArticleDOI
Fmoc-diphenylalanine self assembles to a hydrogel via a novel architecture based on π–π interlocked β-sheets
Andrew M. Smith,Richard J. Williams,Claire Tang,Paolo Coppo,Richard F. Collins,Michael L. Turner,Alberto Saiani,Rein V. Ulijn +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the self assembly of peptide hydrogelators that carry aromatic substituents can be modeled by a novel nanocylindrical architecture, which is consistent with the structures observed in TEM and the data obtained by a variety of spectroscopic techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tuning iridium(III) phenylpyridine complexes in the “almost blue” region
TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis and photophysical properties of blue emitting iridium(III) complexes were reported, and the role played by electron withdrawing substituents of a different nature and also how the substitution position of the same group influenced the spectroscopical behaviour.
Journal ArticleDOI
White-light emission from an assembly comprising luminescent iridium and europium complexes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cyclopentadithiophene based electroactive materials
Paolo Coppo,Michael L. Turner +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a wide variety of electroactive materials are accessible based on a cyclopentadithiophene skeleton, and the synthesis of these materials, examines their intriguing properties (i.e., high electrical conductivity, low band gap and extended π-conjugation) and discusses the complex relationship between structure and function in this system.
