Journal ArticleDOI
Prospective follow-up study of 55 children born after subzonal insemination and intracytoplasmic sperm injection.
Mary-Louise Bonduelle,Sonja Desmyttere,A. Buysse,E. Van Assche,J. Schietecatte,Paul Devroey,A. Van Steirteghem,Ingeborg Liebaers +7 more
TL;DR: The incidence of major malformations was not different from the incidence in the general population, and no cytogenetic aberrations were observed in 43 children tested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Obstetric outcome of pregnancies after the transfer of cryopreserved and fresh embryos obtained by conventional in-vitro fertilization and intracytoplasmic sperm injection
Ayse Aytoz,Etienne Van den Abbeel,Maryse Bonduelle,Michel Camus,Hubert Joris,Andre Van Steirteghem,Paul Devroey +6 more
TL;DR: The cryopreservation process had no negative impact on the outcome of pregnancies over 20 weeks of gestation and long-term follow-up studies are needed in order to prove the safety of the freezing-thawing process.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cytogenetic and morphological observations of single pronucleated human oocytes after in-vitro fertilization
TL;DR: Parthenogenetic activation and asynchronous pronuclei may both be mechanisms leading to the morphological observation of a single pronucleus in single-pronucleated oocytes, suggesting asynchronous or delayed pronuclear formation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of oral contraceptive pill pretreatment on ongoing pregnancy rates in patients stimulated with GnRH antagonists and recombinant FSH for IVF. A randomized controlled trial
Efstratios M. Kolibianakis,Evangelos G. Papanikolaou,Michel Camus,Herman Tournaye,Andre Van Steirteghem,Paul Devroey +5 more
TL;DR: Pretreatment with OCP, as compared with initiation of stimulation on day 2 of the cycle in patients treated with GnRH antagonist and recombinant FSH, appears to be associated with a not significant difference in ongoing pregnancy rates per started cycle and results in a significantly higher early pregnancy loss.
Journal ArticleDOI
Obstetric outcome in donor oocyte pregnancies: a matched-pair analysis
Dominic Stoop,Miriam Baumgarten,Patrick Haentjens,Nikolaos P. Polyzos,Michel De Vos,Greta Verheyen,Michel Camus,Paul Devroey +7 more
TL;DR: Oocyte donation is associated with an increased risk for PIH and first trimester bleeding independent of the recipients’ age, parity and plurality, andindependent of the age of the donor or the partner, but has no impact on the overall perinatal outcome.
