Associations between patient report of symptoms and anatomic impairment visible on lumbar magnetic resonance imaging.

TL;DR: A cross-sectional study comparing the relationship of symptoms with anatomic impairment visible on lumbar magnetic resonance imaging in 408 symptomatic subjects found that segmental distributions of pain can be determined reliably from pain drawings, but this finding alone is of little use in predicting lumbr impairment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Patient Satisfaction With Outpatient Physical Therapy: Instrument Validation

TL;DR: Emphasis on cost-cutting, high patient volume, and the use of "care extenders" may jeopardize satisfaction, and an instrument used to determine which variables are associated with the satisfaction of patients receiving outpatient physical therapy was developed and tested.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stress reactions of the lumbar pars interarticularis: the development of a new MRI classification system.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed a new grading system for lumbar pars interarticularis stress reaction and spondylolysis, which can be used as a mechanism for classifying patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Clinical prediction rules: What are they and what do they tell us?

TL;DR: Clinical prediction rules are research-based tools that quantify the contributions of relevant patient characteristics to provide numeric indices that assist clinicians in making predictions and can provide quick and inexpensive estimates of probability.
