Journal ArticleDOI

Inductive effects in neighboring-group participation. Destabilization of carbocations by CC double bonds in solvolyses of 2,2,5,5-tetramethylcyclopent-3-en-1-yl tosylates

TL;DR: The possibility of homoallylic participation in solvolysis of substituted cyclopent-3-en-1-yl sulfonates has been investigated in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the Combustion of 1,6-Dicarba-closo-hexaborane

TL;DR: The ab initio structures and thermodynamic properties of 1,6dicarba-closo-hexaborane (1,6-C2B4H6) and its isomers support the possibility that at very high combustion temperatures, rearrangement into a higher energy, but more reactive, isomer with an exo-[BH2] group may precede the actual oxidation process as discussed by the authors.
