Effects of Fines Migration on Residual Oil during Low-Salinity Waterflooding

TL;DR: In this article, a novel mechanism of residual oil reduction during low-salinity water flooding by induced fines migration and consequent permeability damage is discovered, which is attributed to fines mobi...
Journal ArticleDOI

A Semi-Analytical Model for Two Phase Immiscible Flow in Porous Media Honouring Capillary Pressure

TL;DR: In this article, a semi-analytical model for two-phase immiscible flow in porous media is presented, which incorporates the effect of capillary pressure gradient on fluid displacement and includes a correction to the capillarity-free Buckley-Leverett saturation profile for the stabilized-zone around the displacement front and the end-effects near the core outlet.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nonuniform External Filter Cake in Long Injection Wells

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors derived the mechanical equilibrium equations for the stabilized cake profile accounting for electrostatic particle-rock interaction, varying permeate factor, applying the torque balance to describe cake equilibrium, and calculating the lever arm ratio using Hertz's theory for contact deformation of cake and particles.
