Fines migration in geothermal reservoirs: laboratory and mathematical modelling

TL;DR: In this paper, a new translation procedure is developed for determining velocity dependency of the maximum retention function from laboratory coreflood tests with varying ionic strength, and the analytical model along with the obtained laboratory data allows successful matching of the well discharge history (Salamander geothermal field, Australia).
Journal ArticleDOI

Analytical model for straining-dominant large-retention depth filtration

TL;DR: In this article, a method for determining pore size distribution for a porous medium from long-time straining-dominant mono-sized suspension injection is proposed, where the aim is avoiding using multiple-size particle suspensions in short-term challenge tests.
Journal ArticleDOI

A stochastic model for filtration of particulate suspensions with incomplete pore plugging

TL;DR: In this article, a population balance model for particulate suspension transport with capture of particles by porous medium accounting for complete and incomplete plugging of pores by retained particles is derived, and the residual pore conductivity after the particle retention in the pore and the possibility of one pore to capture several particles.
