Journal ArticleDOI

The Remarkable Structure of Lithium Cyanide/Isocyanide

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that at higher levels employing full fourth-order Moller-Plesset theory and a quadruply split valence and polarized basis set (MP4STDQ/6-311+G*), 2 is only about 2 kcal/mol less stable than 1 and 3 are indicated to have nearly the same energy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Statistical analysis of σ-holes: a novel complementary view on halogen bonding

TL;DR: Electrostatic potential maps of halogenated molecules were analysed to simplify the view on σ-holes and to provide general trends in organic drug-like molecules and are in fair agreement with crystallographic surveys of small molecules as well as biomolecular complexes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interactions between amino groups in DNA. An Ab initio study and a comparison with empirical potentials.

TL;DR: It is proposed that the mutual amino group interactions contribute to the conformational variability of the CpG and ApT B-DNA steps.
Journal ArticleDOI

Applicability of the supermolecule MP2 approach to intermolecular interactions: He2 and Ne2

TL;DR: In this article, a comparison with the intermolecular perturbation theory and more complete treatments (MP4, CEPA) is made, and it is shown that even with very extended basis sets, only 65% of the stabilization energy is recovered.
