Influence of Size Effect on the Electronic and Elastic Properties of Diamond Films with Nanometer Thickness

TL;DR: In this article, the atomic structure and physical properties of few-layered oriented diamond nanocrystals (diamanes), covered by hydrogen atoms from both sides, are studied using electronic band structure calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Single wall carbon nanotubes density of states: comparison of experiment and theory

TL;DR: In this article, the electronic structure of a variety of single wall carbon nanotubes and the density of states obtained with the Perdew-Burke-Ernzerhof (PBE) generalized gradient approximation and hybrid PBE0 approximation of density functional theory using Gaussian orbitals and periodic boundary conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tunnel magnetoresistance in Co nanoparticle/Co–C60 compound hybrid system

TL;DR: In this paper, a nanometer-scale hybrid film of Co particle/Co-C60 compound was prepared by alternate deposition of Co and C60 under UHV condition.

Two-dimensional hexagonal CrN with promising magnetic and optical properties: A theoretical prediction

TL;DR: Using first principles calculations, it is found that freestanding h-CrN has a 100% spin-polarized half-metallic nature with possible ferromagnetic ordering and a high rate of optical transparency.
