Identification, Chromosome Location, and Diagnostic Markers for a New Gene (YrCN19) for Resistance to Wheat Stripe Rust.

TL;DR: From the pedigree, inheritance, molecular marker, and resistance response, it is concluded that the stripe rust resistance gene in wheat cv.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic mapping of a putative Thinopyrum intermedium-derived stripe rust resistance gene on wheat chromosome 1B

TL;DR: The pedigree, molecular marker data, and resistance response indicated that the stripe rust resistance gene in L693 is a novel gene, which was temporarily designated YrL693, which will be useful for broadening the genetic basis of stripes rust resistance in wheat.
Journal ArticleDOI

Changes in Photosynthesis Could Provide Important Insight into the Interaction between Wheat and Fungal Pathogens.

TL;DR: It is generally found that changes in photosynthesis in the early stage of pathogen infection could be a causal factor influencing acquired resistance, while those in the late stage could be the result of resistance formation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Wheat WCBP1 encodes a putative copper-binding protein involved in stripe rust resistance and inhibition of leaf senescence

TL;DR: The unique chromosomal location and expression mode of WCBP1 suggested thatWCBP1 is the putative candidate gene of YrL693, which was involved in leaf senescence and photosynthesis related to plant responses to stripe rust infection during the grain-filling stage.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Potential Role of Powdery Mildew-Resistance Gene Pm40 in Chinese Wheat-Breeding Programs in the Post- Pm21 Era

TL;DR: Pm40 was identified and mapped on the wheat chromosome arm 7BS from several wheat lines developed from the progenies of a wild cross between wheat and Thinopyrum intermedium, suggesting that it will play a role in powdery mildew-resistance wheat breeding after Pm21 resistance is overcome by Bgt isolates.
