Journal ArticleDOI
Global time scale and regional stratigraphic reference scales of Central and West Europe, East Europe, Tethys, South China, and North America as used in the Devonian-Carboniferous-Permian Correlation Chart 2003 (DCP 2003)
M. Menning,A. S. Alekseev,Boris Chuvashov,Vladimir I. Davydov,F.-X. Devuyst,H.C. Forke,T.A. Grunt,L. Hance,Philip H. Heckel,N.G. Izokh,Y.-G. Jin,Peter J. Jones,G.V. Kotlyar,Heinz W. Kozur,Tamara I. Nemyrovska,Jörg W. Schneider,X.-D. Wang,K. Weddige,D. Weyer,David M. Work +19 more
TL;DR: Menning et al. as mentioned in this paper proposed a global Stratigraphic Reference Scale (GSS) for the analysis of the evolution of the Late Palaeozoic in the light of sedimentary geochemistry.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oxygen isotope values from high-latitudes: Clues for Permian sea-surface temperature gradients and Late Palaeozoic deglaciation
TL;DR: The Permian was a period of waning large-scale continental glaciations in the southern hemisphere as mentioned in this paper, which led to discharge of 18O-depleted ice-melt water into the oceans.
Journal ArticleDOI
Carboniferous and Permian Leaioidea (Branchiopoda: Conchostraca) from Australia: Taxonomic Revision and Biostratigraphic Implications
Peter J. Jones,Pei Ji Chen +1 more
TL;DR: A taxonomic revision of Australian leaioid faunas has reduced, by synonymy, the known Early Carboniferous taxa to three species viz., Hemicycloleaia andersonae (Tasch, 1979), H. grantrangicus and Rostroleaia carboniferae as discussed by the authors.

Journal ArticleDOI
New Carboniferous (Namurian) glaciomarine ostracods from Patagonia, Argentina
TL;DR: The ostracod fauna from the lower part of the Levipustula levis Zone of the Pampa de Tepuel Formation, Patagonia is described and its age is consistent with the currently accepted Early Namurian age for this level.
