A measurement of the double beta decay half-life of 48Ca

TL;DR: In this article, a ββ 2 v measurement of 48 Ca sources of two different thicknesses have been exposed in a time projection chamber, and yield a preliminary T 1/2 2 v = (5.5 −1.5 + 3.5 ) × 10 19 y, in agreement with shell model calculations.

Nuclear physics aspects of double-beta decay

Petr Vogel
TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive description of the phenomenology of the neutrino decay is given, with emphasis on the nuclear physics aspects, and the decay rate formulae derived.

Neutrino Mass and Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay

Petr Vogel
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discussed the link between lepton number and lepton flavor violation and its role in elucidating the $0 u\beta\beta$-decay mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nuclear structure and double beta decay

Petr Vogel
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of the nucleon size and the recoil order terms in the hadronic current on the double-beta decay are discussed, in particular for the case of the heavy particle exchange.
