Today's misery and yesterday's happiness: Differential effects of current life-events on perceptions of past wellbeing
TL;DR: The authors found that negative events such as romantic disappointment, social rejection or academic failure can influence how we feel and what we think, but in opposite ways: when sad feelings serve as a source of information, they give rise to negative evaluations; when current events serve as the standard of comparison, they gave rise to positive evaluations.

Journal ArticleDOI
Correlations between pupil size and the semantic differential: An experimental paradigm and pilot study
TL;DR: The authors found that pupil size is positively related to the evaluative (good-bad) dimension of meaning, but not to the good-bad dimension of the meaning of words.
Journal ArticleDOI

Yu Niiya,Phoebe C. Ellsworth +1 more
