Journal ArticleDOI

Nitroxide-Mediated Polymerization: The Pivotal Role of the kd Value of the Initiating Alkoxyamine and the Importance of the Experimental Conditions

TL;DR: In this article, the role of the initiation and the initiating dissociation rate constant kd1 on the control and livingness of styrene and n-butyl acrylate polymerization was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Intermolecular radical addition of alkoxyamines onto olefins: An easy access to advanced macromolecular architectures precursors

TL;DR: In this paper, the second generation SG1 initiators for nitroxide-mediated polymerization (NMP) were synthesized by intermolecular radical 1,2-addition (IRA) of a high dissociation rate constant alkoxyamine (BlocBuilder ®, also called MAMA-SG1) onto various activated olefins, such as n -butyl acrylate, acrylic acid, dimethylacrylamide, 2-hydroxyethylacricrylate and styrene.
Journal ArticleDOI

Alkoxyamine-mediated radical synthesis of indolinones and indolines.

TL;DR: Thermolysis of alpha-alkoxyamino propionanilides produces indolinones, whereas thermal reaction of N-allylaniline derivatives with various Tordo-type alkoxyamines results in formation of indolines in the radical regime.
Journal ArticleDOI

Radical Chain End Chemical Transformation of SG1-Based Polystyrenes

TL;DR: In this paper, a radical chain end functionalization of polystyrene previously prepared by NMP using the SG1 nitroxide was investigated and the introduction of a bromine end group was performed by radical bromination under mild conditions using ethyl 2-bromoisobutyrate as brominear transfer agent.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of clay-armored poly(vinylidene chloride-co-methyl acrylate) latexes by Pickering emulsion polymerization and their film-forming properties

TL;DR: In this article, the surfactant-free emulsion copolymerization of styrene (Sty)/methyl acrylate (MA) and vinylidene chloride (VDC)/MA by using clay platelets or a mixture of LAPONITE® and Montmorillonite as Pickering stabilizers was reported.
