Journal ArticleDOI

Multiscale grooved titanium processed with femtosecond laser influences mesenchymal stem cell morphology, adhesion, and matrix organization.

TL;DR: The femtosecond laser processing enabled the structuring of six types of surfaces on titanium-6aluminium-4vanadium (Ti-6Al-4V) plates, which obtained hierarchical features consisted of a combination of microgrooves and oriented nanostructures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Temperature measurement and heat flux characterization in grinding using thermography

TL;DR: In this paper, a new method for measuring the temperatures in grinding by means of thermography is presented, combining with first results obtained from numerical simulations in order to obtain a new model of the heat flux entering the workpiece during the grinding process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Emissivity calibration for temperatures measurement using thermography in the context of machining

TL;DR: In this article, the infrared thermography principles applied to the thermal fields recording during orthogonal cutting of 316L stainless steel was presented. But the IR camera equipped with a microscope was integrated in a CNC lath to record grey levels while orthogonality cuttings of 316l samples.
Journal Article

Characterization of Friction Properties During Machining of Various Stainless Steels

TL;DR: In this article, a specially designed tribometer is used to quantify interface characteristics, such as friction coefficient, adhesive layer, or heat transfer coefficient, in the case of four stainless steels.
Dissertation
