Journal ArticleDOI

Noninvasive cardiac output monitoring (NICOM): a clinical validation

TL;DR: Cardiac output measured by NICOM had most often acceptable accuracy, precision, and responsiveness in a wide range of circulatory situations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Less invasive hemodynamic monitoring in critically ill patients

TL;DR: The advantages and limits of using continuous, real-time, minimally or totally non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring techniques with an emphasis on their respective place in the hemodynamic management of critically ill patients with hemodynamic instability are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multicenter Evaluation of Noninvasive Cardiac Output Measurement by Bioreactance Technique

TL;DR: Compared to TD, bioreactance- based NICOM has acceptable accuracy in challenging clinical environments and in subsets of patients, NICOM was shown to be better corre- lated with TD-CO than CO obtained with the Fick method or with standard bioimpedance-based measurements of CO.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison between Flotrac-Vigileo and Bioreactance, a totally noninvasive method for cardiac output monitoring.

TL;DR: This study showed that the NICOM and Vigileo devices have similar monitoring capabilities in post-operative cardiac surgery patients.
